Bay Area Muslim Study Report
Muslims in the San Francisco Bay Area sometimes do not appreciate the rich diversity and spectrum of Islamic community available for Muslims who are blessed to be living here. This opportunity is manifest in the wide range of masjids, Islamic schools, frequent lectures and events, community groups and organizations anchored here, and the array of halal grocery and restaurants in the Bay Area.
The One Nation Bay Area Project commissioned Dr. Farid Senzai and Dr. Hatem Bazian to catalogue and provide insight into this social richness. This information is useful for academics and practitioners wishing to pursue further research, as well as for the community and its leaders, philanthropists and foundations, policymakers, and the general public. As a source of information, it will serve as an important tool for advocacy and media purposes, given that data about the community has often been misrepresented. Finally, the report will add to and complement the growing body of empirical data on local Muslim communities and the national portrait.
The May 2012 Report is titled Bay Area Muslim Study Report and can be found here: read the report.

Advice for Youth by Qari Safiullah
In Islam the youth have an important place and as such deserve specific attention.
Qari Safiullah saids: “The child is like dough, when it fresh piece of dough. When he was born, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years they don’t know much. They don’t know anything. Just like that fresh dough, you can shape it well roung. You can make it long you can make it square you can cut it you can make it anyway you want it. But once you cook it and it’s hard, can you do something else with it? You can’t! You are stuck with that. Like wise, certain people they neglect their children until they become a teenager, and they are already set up on one way or a different way… all of a sudden now the parents want to do something about it…”
